Nursery

At Dishforth CE Primary School we welcome children into our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) class once they have turned 3. Our EYFS class is run by very experienced Early Years staff – Mrs Chaplin , a qualified teacher, who is supported by Mrs Hainsworth, an Advanced Teaching Assistant

Nursery Sessions and Funding

Children can join our setting, and access funded sessions, from the term after they turn three. All children can access 15 hours of funded sessions, and if eligible, may be able to access up to 30 hours of childcare per week. Please speak to the school office to find out more about eligibility for the 30 hours funding.

Subject to availability, parents are able to pay for additional sessions, beyond 15 hours, if they do not qualify for the 30 hours funding. Parents are also able to pay for sessions in the interim period between their child turning 3 and their child’s funding starting, the term after they turn 3.

Nursery sessions are available:

Mornings Monday to Friday 8:45 to 11:45

Afternoons Monday to Friday 12:15 to 3:15

Full days Monday to Friday (8.45 – 3.15)

Parents are able to choose which sessions their child attends nursery (subject to availability).

Lunch Club

A Lunch club (run by Mrs Hainsworth) is available Monday to Friday from 11:45 to 12:30 (chargeable for children accessing 15 hours of funding). The lunch club provides flexibility for parents to send their child to nursery for a mixture of full days or extended half days. Parents are able to purchase a school meal or send a packed lunch for their child.

Transition into Nursery

We understand that starting nursery is an important milestone for both the parents and the child. In order to help the transition into nursery children are invited to a 1-hour settling-in session the week before they are due to start. Additional sessions may be organised to ensure smooth transition into nursery.

If you would like more information, or to arrange a visit to our EYFS unit, please contact the school on admin@dishforth.n-yorks.sch.uk or 01845 577206. We very much look forward to welcoming you.
