We’ve had a super week this week with some lovely sunshine allowing the field to be used properly for the first time for breaktimes, lunchtimes, outdoor learning and PE sessions. Class 1 had a very successful trip to Aysgarth Falls and huge thank you needs to go to Mrs Cawood and all the helpers who put a lot of time and effort into ensuring that it ran smoothly and that the children had a day to remember.

Can you help us?

After Easter we are hoping to start a new initiative on Fridays to boost reading skills in school with a ‘Reading Buddies’ project. We are looking for some friendly parents/grandparents/carers to come to school to be a ‘Reading Buddy’ and volunteer their time to hear some of our children read. It would involve coming to the hall on a Friday morning after drop off and reading with a child 1:1 with their reading book. You could volunteer anything between half an hour and an hour of your time and if you can’t do every week then please don’t worry, every little helps. The first session will be Friday 24 th April and will be a quick meeting with Mrs Chaplin (our English Leader) to talk about exactly what to do and how it will work. If you are interested then please speak to Mrs Lacey or Vicky in the office.
