Headteacher’s Message
A quieter week in school this week with everyone busy with teaching and learning, getting work completed before the Christmas festivities start. On Monday morning we were delighted to welcome Reverend Dianne into school to lead our Collective Worship. During worship she shared with us that she has recently been made a Canon of York Minster, a huge honour. The children thoroughly enjoyed hearing all about it and seeing her dress in her new robes. It was fascinating to hear the significance of each part and we’re looking forward to seeing her wearing them again in Church at our Christingle Service on 30th January. Lunchtime clubs are going strong with Mr Duffy leading Lego club on a Wednesday lunchtime and Mrs Cawood leading our newly formed school choir on Tuesday lunchtimes. Our choir is preparing some Christmas songs ready to perform at the Christmas Fayre and hopefully to bring some Christmas cheer to some local community groups.
Just a little reminder for anyone with pre-school children, toddler or babies. Our Tiddlers group is running each Tuesday afternoon between 2 and 3pm in the hall with Mrs Hainsworth. Everyone is welcome for a drink and snack, play and some songs and games. If you know anyone with a pre school child who you think might like to attend, then please encourage them to come along.
