Last week our year 1s did us proud with their amazing work completing their Phonics Check. They all showed off their amazing confidence in recognising sounds and blending them to read both known and ‘alien’ words. They all did brilliantly and their results will be shared with families in their end of year reports.
We had a very special Celebration Assembly on Friday when we were joined by Margaret from the Royal British Legions’ Lister House Care Home in Ripon. We were delighted to welcome her to receive our donation of £80 to the Royal British Legion to mark the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. The children from class 2 wrote and read aloud some incredibly moving and poignant poems dedicated to veterans and we all enjoyed seeing a presentation sent from Lister House to show their D-Day Commemoration celebrations
