Headteacher’s Message
This week we were excited to celebrate World Book Day. It was lovely to see everyone in their cosy clothes enjoying reading and sharing books around school all day. Our Remarkable Readers competition was a huge success with lots of exciting entries to choose from, including children reading in sheds, garages, boxes and museums and in trees, parks and even reading upside down. The winner was Esme who sent in some brilliant photographs of her reading whilst swimming well done Esme. Our runners up were Abigail who took her book around a London Museum and Amelia who sent in a photograph of her reading whilst sitting on her horse. Everyone who took part got a prize and we would like to thank the NYES Catering Service for donating the book voucher for Esme’s prize. Lastly, if you are not already following us on social media then please don’t forget that we have a very active Facebook page and now a Instagram page as well. If you’re not already a follower then please consider looking us up. Our book fair finished on Monday and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who came and bought books. Your book buying generates funds for us to buy new books for school and we are delighted that this year it raised over £220 for us. With this we will be updating our books targeted at children who finish our reading scheme and become ‘free’ readers. Lastly, just to give you a little reminder that Parents Evening appointments are now available for booking through Arbor. Please let us know if you can’t attend and we can work with you to arrange an alternative
