Welcome back to the Summer term! It was lovely to welcome everyone back to school on Tuesday after our Easter break. As you may have seen, it was a busy holiday on site with the installation of a new Friends of Dishforth uniform shed at the front of school, new fencing for our Early Years play area and finally some new lighting for our carpark. We also took the opportunity to get rid of some of the old rotten fencing around school while these jobs were happening to make things smarter and safer for everyone. We have packed a lot into our first short week back with Skip2bFit coming in and running skipping workshops with the children on Thursday and an Australia day for class 1 to launch their new topic. Also on Thursday, I had the privilege of accompanying our reception children on their school trip to Harlow Carr gardens. The children had a fabulous time and were beautifully behaved, a real credit to the school. I can’t wait to see their wildflower seeds grow. Just a little reminder that children need to have their PE kits in school EVERY DAY. At this time of the year the timetable in school can change for lots of different reasons (including to make the most of good weather) so it is essential that children have the things they need all week.
