This week started with an inspirational assembly from Miss Ungerechts who has arranged for a Paralympian Antony Cotterill, a wheelchair GB tennis player, to come to school on Friday 12 June. Antony will be talking to the children about his life in sport and also leading PE workshops for the children. This is part of the 'Great Athletes' initiative that aims to raise money for schools and inspire them by meeting professional sports men and women. The children should have brought home a sponsor form this week to try and raise money for school sports equipment. This works by sponsoring them to complete Antony's sports circuit that he will set up on the day.The children are very excited to take part and we can't wait to see our Dishforth sporting talent shine! Also this week Class 3 have been away on their residential trip to PGL Newby Wiske. A brilliant time
was had by all with the children who showed amazing bravery and great skills completing activities such as canoeing, archery, abseiling, and the zip wire. A big thank you needs to go to all our whole staff team, whether they have been away from school or in school keeping things running smoothly these events and trips cannot take place without their commitment, hard work and enthusiasm.
Thank you.
