This week we had a full Governing body meeting in school on Wednesday afternoon with Governors also taking the opportunity to meet with staff and complete monitoring activities. Also this week teachers have attended training on how to support children with bereavement and loss. We have been delighted to welcome Miss Wotherspoon , from the University of York St John into our EYFS class to complete a student teacher training placement. Lastly a couple of requests. Recently we have seen a growing number of children coming to school bringing toys or fidgets from home. These are increasingly causing disruption to teaching and learning. Unless your child has a fidget toy specified on an SEN support plan, or having a fidget toy has specifically been discussed with the class teacher, they should not be using them in school. Each classroom has a stock of fidget toys available for those children that genuinely need them. Please can you ensure that your child does not bring toys from home into school. Thank you. Lastly , we have had a concern raised about the behaviour of some children around the school site before the classroom doors open in the morning. I have already spoken to the whole school about this in assembly. Please can you ensure that if you are arriving early and have to wait to go in, that your children are supervised, wait calmly and sensibly and are considerate of other families. Thank you for your support with this.
