12th December 2025

This week we have had fun preparing for Christmas. This morning we had a special advent activity morning, organised by Mrs Cawood where the children worked together with other classes to complete activities to help them understand the meaning of advent. It was lovely to see all the children working so beautifully together with the older children supporting the older ones with such care and kindness. On Thursday afternoon our newly-formed and fantastic choir visited Thirsk to sing in a nursery, supermarket and for a community group. This was a great first outing for them and a lovely way to spread some festive Dishforth cheer out in the community. We look forward to more trips in the future and to hearing them sing at our Christingle service in Church on Friday 30th January. And lastly a huge thank you to everyone that took part in our wonderful Christmas Fayre this afternoon. It was a really special afternoon and early indications are that we have raised an incredible amount of money. Particular thanks needs to go to all our wonderful Class 3 stall holders who put amazing effort into designing and making their games and our wonderful young musicians who entertained us all and helped put everyone in the Christmas spirit. Thanks also must go to the Friends of Dishforth who did a tremendous job of setting up and providing the ever-popular tombola, refreshments and festive cheer! Lastly to everyone that made crafts, donated tombola prizes to name.
