Community Coffee Morning
Class 2 held a community coffee morning on Tuesday 8th December. Over the last half term, we have been thinking about the value of Compassion and planned the event to raise money for Age UK. Have a look at our photo gallery to find out more.
I would like to thank everyone in the community for coming together to help us hold such a fantastic coffee morning earlier this week. Without the support of friends and family in the area we wouldn't have had such a successful event. We raised a huge £114 on the day which has been given directly to a representative from Age UK based in Ripon. The children have organised and catered this event themselves and I feel extremely proud of what they achieved.
Thank you for your continued support, Miss Campey

Class are thoroughly enjoying their new science topic with a real emphasis on hands on learning. Their work began with a visit from Mr Mason who came into school to talk about the different foods animals need and how their digestive systems work. The session was extremely informative and the children were able to look at a wide range of different animal foods. (There are some pictures on the school website.) The next day, Class 2 set off on a visit to Flamingo Land Zoo where they had the opportunity to observe and handle some animals, including a snake a frog and take a close look at a tarantula! They also enjoyed a guided tour of the zoo and were able to see the new baby giraffe. Class 2 also enjoyed visits from Stella-Bella, (Will and Scarlett’s tortoise) and Brian, (Mrs Liddle’s tortoise). On Friday, Mrs Gillespie came to visit and shared lots of interesting facts about the human skeleton. Class 2 would like to thank everyone who has helped them in their learning- it certainly has been a super topic!
Class 2 Viking Day
Class 2 enjoyed experiencing little taste of Viking life. We made a settlement using different materials, baked traditional Viking bread (we ate every piece drizzled with honey!) and junk modelled Viking Longships that we had previously planned in Design and technology. We finished the day off by presenting some of our work to the rest of the school in assembly.
